Responsibilities
- Own the Android IoT application end to end, including architecture, implementation, feature delivery, code quality, and long-term maintainability.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve defects, crashes, incidents, and other production issues.
- Support release preparation, deployment, fleet rollout, rollback, and post-release validation.
- Improve code quality, maintainability, test coverage, and technical debt management through reviews and architecture discussions.
- Contribute to uptime, quality, stability, latency, release stability, security, and incident-response targets across platforms.
- Maintain technical documentation, decision records, runbooks, onboarding materials, engineering practices, and secure SDLC practices.
- Collaborate with product, design, backend, QA, support, and client counterpart teams.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in Android application development with Kotlin and Firebase.
- Knowledge of the Android operating system, including areas such as boot sequence, updates, MCU, and recovery, is preferred.
- Experience managing Android IoT fleets, including FOTA rollouts, monitoring, OS firmware validation, and APK rollouts.
- Understanding of incident and problem management, including service restoration, root-cause analysis, debugging, and diagnosis.
- Experience with source code and version-control tools such as Git and GitLab.
- Strong collaboration, discovery-session, communication, and English-language skills.
- Preferred experience with Flutter, Swift, C++, mobile IoT applications, device pairing, diagnostics, connectivity, firmware and app rollouts, canary releases, rollback strategies, and device fleet operations.
- Familiarity with AWS-backed systems, serverless architectures, agricultural or manufacturing solutions, and AI-augmented development practices.
- Ability to use AI tools responsibly, validate their outputs critically, understand their limitations, and take ownership of final results.
