Responsibilities
- Code and ship new features that directly impact Atlassian products.
- Make changes to production code while developing full-lifecycle software engineering knowledge.
- Contribute to engineering initiatives supporting customers’ move to the cloud and investments across Jira, Confluence, Trello, and Bitbucket.
- Work as part of a development team and report to Senior Engineers.
Requirements
- Commit to a 12-week, full-time, 40-hour-per-week program during Summer 2027.
- Be currently enrolled full-time in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in computer science or a related technical field, return to the program after the internship, and graduate by August 2028.
- Demonstrate proficiency in Java, Python, Golang, TypeScript, or another object-oriented programming language through coursework or personal projects.
- Understand data structures, algorithms, and their practical applications.
- Preferred: software engineering experience from internships, work, personal projects, open-source contributions, or technical publications.
- Preferred: exposure to artificial intelligence concepts, machine learning frameworks, MCP, or agentic AI.
- Preferred: basic understanding of software architecture design patterns and their applications.
Benefits

- Work arrangement may be in an office, from home, or a combination of the two, but this role requires working from Seattle, WA or San Francisco, CA.
