Responsibilities
- Build and operate scalable, performant, and highly available software services and products.
- Develop Windows-based systems such as POS clients, payment modules, and VAN integrations.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, frontend engineers, operations teams, and business teams to deliver features and resolve production issues.
- Own features and systems, define their long-term health, and make scalability-focused technical design decisions.
- Lead or contribute to large cross-functional projects and review code.
- Improve engineering standards, tooling, and development processes.
Requirements
- 5+ years of industry software engineering experience developing and operating complex systems.
- Strong experience with common programming languages such as Java, Python, Go, C++, and TypeScript.
- Strong computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, threading, distributed systems, and information retrieval.
- Strong spoken and written English communication skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent training, fellowship, or work experience.
- Preferred: 3+ years developing Windows applications or system-level software with .NET Framework and C#.
- Preferred: experience with POS, VAN, or payment module integration.
- Preferred: familiarity with software development from design and implementation through testing and deployment.
- Preferred: distributed systems, technical architecture, Java, Go, Python, AI, or LLM development experience.
- Preferred: hands-on experience in an innovative, fast-paced environment and interest in shaping engineering practices at an early-stage startup.
