Base Salary
$170k - $200k/yr
Responsibilities
- Collaborate on the technical vision and build products customers value.
- Develop and maintain low-latency, massively scalable developer-facing APIs.
- Build and maintain a robust data platform supporting the data science team.
- Design and implement systems that support product and company growth.
- Debug production issues across all levels of the backend stack.
- Work collaboratively with customers and internal stakeholders while owning backend projects.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience building and scaling backend Python-based systems in fast-paced environments.
- Proven experience developing REST APIs and writing performant SQL.
- Experience building with AWS infrastructure.
- Experience designing systems from scratch, making trade-offs, and executing autonomously in an early-stage environment.
- Strong problem-solving, customer focus, collaboration, adaptability, and ability to work through ambiguity.
- Based in NYC with the ability to work from the Flatiron office at least 2 days per week.
- Preferred: proficiency with Django.
- Preferred: familiarity with PySpark, Databricks, Delta Lake, and Hex.
- Preferred: experience with cloud infrastructure tools such as AWS CDK.
- Preferred: experience with transaction, merchant, or location data and interest in fintech or data products.
