Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Architect and lead high-throughput, low-latency Java microservices for globally scaled, real-time payment transaction processing.
- Design event-driven streaming and messaging architectures using Apache Kafka, including partitioning, distributed transactions, and idempotency patterns.
- Build resilient Spring Boot and Spring Cloud services with centralized configuration, service discovery, distributed tracing, and mTLS security.
- Integrate ISO 20022 payment messaging, real-time payment schemes, and financial networks while maintaining data security and cryptographic controls.
- Optimize distributed SQL and in-memory persistence tiers and tune Java concurrency, Virtual Threads, memory management, and JVM garbage collection for ultra-low latency.
- Establish observability standards with SRE partners using OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana, and Splunk, and lead profiling, chaos engineering, and volume stress testing.
- Lead design and code reviews, mentor engineers, and provide architectural guidance across multiple engineering squads.
- Guide Docker and Kubernetes/OpenShift deployments, CI/CD automation, and zero-downtime release strategies.
- Champion AI-PDLC and the use of generative AI developer tools and autonomous agents while enforcing security and governance standards.
Requirements
- 10+ years of hands-on Java software engineering and architecture experience.
- Deep proficiency in Java 17/21, concurrency utilities, Virtual Threads, memory management, and advanced JVM performance tuning.
- Demonstrated experience designing, developing, and operating production-grade microservices with Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, and reactive programming.
- Deep expertise with Apache Kafka or RabbitMQ, including partitioning strategies, distributed transactions, and idempotency patterns.
- Practical mastery of microservices architecture patterns and high-availability containerized environments.
- Experience integrating AI-assisted developer tools such as GitHub Copilot, Devin, and AI code analysis tools into delivery workflows.
- Proficiency with Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift, Git-based version control, automated CI/CD pipelines, and Agile delivery methodologies.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional technical leadership abilities.
- Bachelor’s or university degree, or equivalent experience; a master’s degree is preferred.
