Responsibilities
- Apply SRE principles to improve application reliability, scalability, performance, fault tolerance, recovery, and disaster readiness.
- Implement monitoring, alerting, observability, actionable alerts, and SLIs/SLOs with development teams.
- Automate operational processes to reduce manual effort and improve recovery times.
- Participate in major incident resolution, diagnosis validation, root cause analysis, and post-incident reviews.
- Identify long-term fixes for recurring issues and operational gaps.
- Embed SRE practices and non-functional requirements into design reviews, sprint planning, standups, and the software development lifecycle.
- Partner with application development, infrastructure, network, security, and business teams to improve operational readiness and reliability.
- Mentor others and promote continuous improvement and an SRE culture.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent practical experience.
- 6–8 years of experience in application support, SRE, or a similar role.
- Strong understanding of SRE principles, reliability engineering, and production support best practices.
- Working knowledge of Unix/Linux, Windows, Mainframe, and SQL/PLSQL.
- Experience supporting complex application or production environments.
- Experience with root cause analysis, incident management, and problem resolution.
- Hands-on experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Splunk and Dynatrace.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms, preferably AWS, distributed systems, DevOps tools, and automation practices.
- Exposure to scripting languages such as Python and Shell.
- Familiarity with AutoSys, ServiceNow, or JIRA.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and cross-functional leadership skills.
