Base Salary
$132k - $252k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own and evolve AWS infrastructure supporting data platforms, ML training, analytics workloads, ETL pipelines, and ML systems.
- Design, deploy, and maintain EKS-based services and production Kubernetes workloads.
- Build and manage Terraform infrastructure across development, staging, and production environments.
- Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure and application deployment using GitLab, GitHub, or similar tools.
- Operate and improve Kafka or Redpanda clusters.
- Improve the reliability, observability, and performance of prediction services.
- Support Dagster and other data workflow orchestration systems.
- Collaborate with Data Science, ML Engineering, and Data Engineering teams to productionize models and data pipelines.
- Strengthen AWS IAM, networking, and connectivity between cloud and on-premises systems.
- Support cyber hardening efforts with the RTX cyber team and incrementally improve infrastructure and deployment patterns.
Requirements
- Typically requires a STEM degree and at least 10 years of relevant experience, or an advanced related degree and at least 7 years of experience.
- Proficiency with Python and strong experience with AWS, including EKS, IAM, VPCs, and networking.
- Hands-on experience operating production Kubernetes workloads.
- Experience managing Kafka or Redpanda in production environments.
- Proficiency with Terraform for infrastructure as code.
- Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitLab, GitHub Actions, or similar tools.
- Understanding of distributed systems, reliability, and scaling.
- Experience supporting production data pipelines or ML systems.
- Experience with observability stacks such as Prometheus, Grafana, or Thanos.
- Preferred experience with Kafka Connect, Rust, Dagster, Airflow, Iceberg, Spark, Elasticsearch, MLOps, performance and cost optimization, and hybrid cloud/on-premises Kubernetes environments.
