Responsibilities
- Understand end-to-end client business processes, user needs, constraints, risks, and operational opportunities.
- Prioritize use cases, define useful first versions, and establish success criteria and impact metrics.
- Design and build GenAI solutions using LLMs, agents, deterministic code, or traditional workflows as appropriate.
- Integrate solutions with APIs, databases, documents, and enterprise systems.
- Deploy and operate production systems in the cloud with quality evaluation, testing, observability, failure handling, recovery mechanisms, and cost and latency monitoring.
- Implement identity and permission controls, data and secret protection, auditing, action limits, and human supervision where appropriate.
- Validate solutions with users, measure adoption and outcomes, and revise approaches based on evidence.
- Document decisions, support knowledge transfer, and turn project learnings into reusable components and practices.
- Provide hands-on technical leadership and maintain direct responsibility for production code and results.
Requirements
- Significant experience building and sustaining systems in production with direct ownership of technical decisions and outcomes.
- Recent, substantial hands-on experience writing, reviewing, deploying, and operating code in production.
- Proficiency in Python or an equivalent programming language and the ability to move from architecture to implementation.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals, including APIs and integrations, data modeling, authentication and authorization, testing, CI/CD, and failure handling.
- Production experience with LLM-based systems, including evaluation, tracing, response quality, cost, latency, and detection of plausible but incorrect responses.
- Depth in at least one cloud platform, such as Azure, AWS, or GCP, with the ability to transfer architecture, security, and operational patterns across environments.
- Ability to work directly with users and business stakeholders, challenge assumptions with evidence, explain decisions, and build alignment.
- Autonomy when working with incomplete information, validating hypotheses, changing direction, and escalating risks or commitments when needed.
- Advanced spoken and written English for business and technical discussions and documentation.
- Experience with client-integrated teams or regulated industries is a plus.
- LLMOps, automated evaluation, tracing, infrastructure as code, RAG, LLM tool integration, context management, and vector databases are desirable.
- Technical leadership without formal managerial authority is desirable.
