
Product Security Engineer - Cyber security - IEC 62443
GE VernovaResponsibilities
- Implement the secure development lifecycle, including security assessments, threat modeling, requirements definition, security architecture and design, penetration testing, and secure deployment guidance.
- Develop and deliver product cybersecurity solutions and contribute to technology and design decisions aligned with the Grid Automation cybersecurity strategy and roadmap.
- Maintain cybersecurity architecture, recommend standards and tools, and share security best practices across the research and development community.
- Develop and conduct cybersecurity training for product managers, software engineers, technical support, and other internal audiences.
- Implement vulnerability and incident management processes, including assessments, solution definition, external communications, and security advisories.
- Support cybersecurity standards and regulatory alignment for utility-industry products, including NERC-CIP, NIST, IEC62443, and IEC62351.
- Lead programs and projects and collaborate effectively with teams across functions and worldwide locations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in engineering, computer science, or information technology.
- Extensive cybersecurity experience, preferably in an operational technology environment.
- Experience with telecom and network equipment, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Experience with LDAP, RADIUS, SSH, SFTP, HTTPS, SYSLOG, encryption, TLS, RSA, and code signing.
- Experience with vulnerability assessment tools and penetration testing methodologies.
- Knowledge of symmetric and asymmetric cryptography and PKI infrastructure.
- Cybersecurity certification such as ISC2, SANS, ISACA, or CISSP is desirable.
- Experience with programming and scripting languages.
- Knowledge of TCP/IP, communication protocols, and applications, including Modbus, DNP3, and IEC61850.
- Experience with Linux, VxWorks, and Windows, including user account management, system hardening, device control, and patch management.
- Strong customer service, communication, documentation, planning, teamwork, and project management skills.
