Responsibilities
- Architect, build, deploy, and maintain machine learning and generative AI models using Kubernetes, Google Cloud, Vertex AI, and TPUs.
- Design retrieval-augmented generation frameworks, multi-agent workflows, and LLM fine-tuning solutions for defense and operational problems.
- Transition ML prototypes from Jupyter notebooks into secure, scalable, low-latency production environments.
- Design model endpoints with security checks, error handling, retries, and fallback mechanisms.
- Establish CI/CD pipelines for real-time inference and model updates across tactical and strategic cloud environments.
- Implement evaluation frameworks, guardrails, model governance, version control, auditability, and Explainable AI standards.
- Optimize infrastructure for high-performance computing and Edge AI deployments.
- Advise mission owners and technical stakeholders on AI/ML alignment, project strategy, and cloud ML integration.
Requirements
- US citizenship and an active TS/SCI security clearance are required.
- A bachelor's degree in computer science, artificial intelligence, data science, or a related field is required.
- At least 8 years of full-stack software development experience using Python or C++, including production-grade software design and testing, is required.
- At least 5 years of dedicated ML engineering, model deployment, and ML infrastructure optimization experience is required.
- Hands-on experience with GCP data and ML services including Vertex AI, BigQuery, Dataflow, and Cloud Storage is required.
- At least 2 years of generative AI experience involving LLMs, RAG, embedding models, and vector databases is required.
- At least 1 year of experience building and scaling agentic workflows or prompt engineering is required.
- Proficiency with PyTorch, TensorFlow, Keras, scikit-learn, Pandas, NumPy, and OpenCV is required.
- Enterprise codebase experience with version control and CI/CD pipelines is required.
- A DoD 8570.01-M or DoD 8140 IAT Level II or higher certification, such as CompTIA Security+ or CISSP, is required.
- A Google Cloud Professional Machine Learning Engineer or equivalent GCP Professional certification is required.
- Preferred qualifications include the TensorFlow Developer Certificate; experience with LangChain, Hugging Face, MCP, Microsoft Agent Framework, JAX, XLA, CUDA, CuPy, Numba, RAPIDS, cuDF, Docker, Podman, Kubernetes, Rancher, AWS, EC2, S3, Lambda, NLP, BERT, speech/audio processing, or reinforcement learning.
