Base Salary
$144k - $194k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead projects that solve complex distributed-systems problems at global scale.
- Design, implement, test, deploy, and operate software systems that automate Amazon’s networks.
- Build cloud-computing systems and tools that collect and rationalize data from multiple sources and frameworks.
- Use service data to measure success, improve quality, and prevent faults from affecting customers.
- Lead challenging projects and milestones as a technical leader on an agile team.
- Collaborate with Network Engineering teams on software rollouts, service delivery, and fleet optimization.
- Interact with customers, gather requirements, and influence the design, development, deployment, and support of new functionality.
- Mentor engineers and contribute to documentation, processes, and procedures.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or CSSLP certification.
- At least 3 years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- At least 2 years of non-internship experience with design or architecture of new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
- Programming experience in at least one software programming language.
- Experience building complex software systems successfully delivered to customers.
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or engineering team leader.
- Preferred: bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent.
- Preferred: at least 3 years covering the full software development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Preferred: knowledge of professional software engineering practices across architecture, code reviews, source control, continuous deployment, testing, and operational excellence.
- Preferred: experience with distributed systems at scale.
- Must obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph.
