Base Salary

$87k - $198k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Develop end-to-end software and systems from initial vision through production deployment.
  • Design, build, and deploy algorithms for orbital determination, tracking, or space domain awareness.
  • Develop Python software for mission-critical or scientific applications.
  • Work in Linux or UNIX environments, including shell scripting and operational troubleshooting.
  • Use Docker, Kubernetes, and containerized environments to support software deployment.
  • Contribute to distributed systems supporting space situational awareness or orbital analytics.
  • Identify system improvements and ensure solutions account for current architecture, operating environments, and future enhancements.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience in astrophysics or astrodynamics.
  • At least 3 years of experience using Python for mission-critical or scientific applications.
  • Experience developing software in Linux or UNIX environments, including shell scripting and operational troubleshooting.
  • Experience with containerized environments, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD workflows.
  • Experience designing, building, and deploying orbital determination, tracking, or space domain awareness algorithms.
  • Knowledge of orbital mechanics and space object behavior.
  • Required TS/SCI clearance and eligibility for access to classified information.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Astrophysics, or Computer Science.
  • Preferred experience includes at least 3 years using Java for mission-critical or scientific applications.
  • Preferred qualifications include large-scale distributed systems experience, enterprise CM pipelines, version control and release management discipline, strong communication skills, TS/SCI with polygraph, IAT Level II certification, or AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Developer, or SysOps Associate certification.
  • Candidates must complete the required skills assessment and meet the minimum proficiency threshold.
