Responsibilities
- Use domain modeling techniques to build business products.
- Structure software for understandability, testing, and evolution.
- Build scalable solutions without single points of failure.
- Develop secure code and protect systems from malicious actors.
- Investigate and resolve issues so they do not recur.
- Support zero-downtime releases and reliable operations.
- Optimize data reading and writing, monitor performance, and resolve operational problems.
- Keep technologies and engineering patterns current.
- Drive team adoption of approved AI-assisted engineering practices and validate AI-generated outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
- Apply software development lifecycle tools and automation capabilities to improve engineering outcomes.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts with 5+ years of applied experience.
- Experience with JVM-based languages, specifically Java or Kotlin, and cloud-native solutions.
- Familiarity with open-source technologies and multi-cloud solutions.
- Ability to independently assess problems, select technologies, and make long-term technical decisions.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities while maintaining high standards for individual and team performance.
- Strong collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and teaching orientation.
- Experience leading effective use of approved AI-assisted software development tools for coding, code review, testing, and troubleshooting.
- Understanding of responsible AI use, data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs and outputs, resiliency, and security expectations.
- Experience coaching engineers on safe and compliant adoption of AI-assisted development practices.
