Responsibilities
- Review requirements, specifications, and technical design documents and provide meaningful, risk-focused feedback.
- Design and evolve scalable Java automation frameworks emphasizing reliability, performance, and data correctness.
- Create test strategies for complex features and automate tests across multiple environments.
- Improve CI/CD pipelines by building robust validation layers that prevent silent failures and regressions.
- Build internal AI- and LLM-based tools for debugging, failure triage, test scenario generation, flaky-pattern detection, regression-risk detection, log analysis, and root-cause identification.
- Design AI-assisted workflows that integrate with existing automation and release pipelines.
- Experiment with and implement agent-based systems and LLM-powered tooling for development and testing.
- Measure and improve engineering impact using reliability metrics, automation efficiency, and defect-prevention signals.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to promote quality ownership and automation-first practices.
- Coach quality engineers in advanced automation engineering practices.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software industry experience with a focus on quality, automation, and engineering excellence.
- Strong proficiency in Java and a deep understanding of object-oriented programming principles.
- Expertise designing scalable automation frameworks and identifying negative, edge, and high-risk scenarios.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems risks including schema drift, idempotency failures, data inconsistencies, and race conditions.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms including AWS, GCP, or Azure and containerized environments including Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines with tools such as Jenkins, CircleCI, or Buildkite.
- Experience with backend automation frameworks.
- Knowledge of database testing and ETL/data pipeline validation is a strong plus.
- Demonstrated ability to use AI and LLM tools to accelerate development, debugging, test design, or automation.
- Experience building AI-assisted tools, workflows, or agents integrated into engineering pipelines.
- Ability to design prompt strategies, rigorously validate LLM outputs, and implement safeguards against hallucinations or unsafe automation.
- Experience using AI to streamline workflows and improve measurable engineering productivity.
- Comfort feeding, tuning, and orchestrating AI agents to solve engineering problems.
