Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable microservices using Java 17 and Spring Boot.
- Build event-driven architectures using Kafka for transaction, market data, and client activity processing.
- Develop SQL-based data access solutions using MySQL and PL/SQL for portfolio management, analytics, and reporting.
- Design and deploy resilient applications in AWS cloud environments.
- Translate business requirements into technical solutions in collaboration with stakeholders and technical teams.
- Modernize legacy applications by refactoring and migrating functionality to microservices architectures.
- Implement unit, integration, and API testing practices.
- Monitor and optimize application performance using logging, metrics, and observability tools.
- Apply secure coding standards and engineering best practices to protect financial data and support regulatory compliance.
- Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and knowledge-sharing activities.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of hands-on software engineering experience with strong Java 17 and object-oriented programming expertise.
- Experience developing microservices and RESTful APIs with Spring Boot.
- Strong knowledge of Kafka, event-driven architectures, and distributed system design patterns.
- Advanced SQL skills, including query optimization, relational database design, and performance tuning.
- Experience designing and deploying applications in AWS cloud environments.
- Understanding of version control, automated testing, CI/CD, and code reviews.
- Experience with asset and wealth management domains, including portfolios, orders, positions, reporting, and client servicing workflows.
- Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with distributed global teams.
- Experience modernizing legacy applications into cloud-native microservices architectures is preferred.
- Knowledge of wealth or investment management platforms is preferred.
- Exposure to JavaScript and front-end integration is preferred.
- Experience with observability, monitoring, application performance management, security, governance, compliance, AWS certifications, or large-scale enterprise environments is preferred.
