Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, test, and support industrial automation system configuration and selection tools.
- Design and implement product configurators based on product marketing specifications and business requirements.
- Organize, manage, and maintain product and configuration data from various databases for electronic marketing and sales tools.
- Develop and maintain server-based web applications supporting product configuration and selection processes.
- Create, test, and deploy configurator solutions in enterprise configurator environments.
- Perform database programming, including data modeling, maintenance, optimization, and troubleshooting.
- Participate in software release, validation, testing, and deployment activities.
- Collaborate with product marketing, product managers, engineering teams, business users, and external partners to deliver configuration solutions.
- Ensure configurator accuracy, performance, documentation, and compliance with development standards.
- Support continuous improvement and contribute to industrial automation product knowledge development.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in electronics, instrumentation, electrical engineering, computer science, information technology, or a related discipline.
- 1–4 years of software development and maintenance experience.
- Experience with live software development projects and production support activities.
- Strong experience with database programming and data management concepts.
- Knowledge of software application development, testing methodologies, and technical documentation.
- Experience working in product configurator development environments.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks independently and work with globally distributed teams.
- Flexibility to support U.S. time zones during software release and testing activities.
- Preferred knowledge of industrial automation products, particularly Rockwell Automation products or equivalent offerings.
- Preferred hands-on experience with declarative product model programming in CPQ/configurator platforms, including SAP Variant Configuration, Selectica, Oracle CPQ, Configit, or Tacton.
- Preferred experience creating and maintaining online product configuration solutions.
- Preferred strong knowledge of MS Access, SQL, and Microsoft Excel.
- Preferred experience with server-based web application development and maintenance.
- Preferred experience translating product configuration specifications into configurator solutions and working with product marketing teams on configuration changes.
- Preferred exposure to product lifecycle management, product data management, and configuration testing processes.
- Preferred ability to lead technical discussions with business users, product managers, and external partners.
