Responsibilities
- Assist with eliciting and maintaining Software Requirements Specifications for onboard safety-critical computers.
- Support the development and execution of validation and verification activities in accordance with RTCA DO-178C up to DAL-A.
- Support integration of software platform architectures, including partitioning, scheduling, resource allocation, and integration of RTOS BSPs, drivers, middleware, and third-party applications.
- Help implement and maintain standardized APIs for RTOS, BSP, low-level I/O, and middleware platform support software.
- Participate in developing embedded services such as secure mathematical functions, file systems, and logging.
- Assist with software certification documentation and compliance evidence.
- Perform technical benchmarking, rapid prototyping on reference boards, board bring-up, and target-platform evaluation.
Requirements
- Solid understanding of C for real-time embedded systems and familiarity with GNU toolchains, GCC, and Clang/LLVM.
- Foundational knowledge of ARM, PowerPC, or x86 architectures, including MMUs, caches, and memory hierarchies.
- Basic knowledge of avionics data buses such as ARINC-429, CAN, or Ethernet.
- Familiarity with UART, SPI, I2C, and basic DMA concepts.
- Academic or internship experience, or strong theoretical knowledge, relating to safety-critical RTOS and the ARINC-653 specification.
- Basic awareness of RTCA DO-178C processes.
- Ability to use Python for basic automation and work with JSON or XML data formats.
- Good command of English at B2 level or higher.
- Experience with Embedded Linux, UML/SysML, static analysis or structural code coverage tools, and Jira or Confluence is valuable.
