Base Salary
$196k - $312k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate platform capabilities across Workflows, Queues, and Cron.
- Build APIs, SDKs, and tooling for defining, running, and managing durable work at scale.
- Develop distributed-systems foundations for scheduling, message delivery, execution, retries, and state.
- Help developers build applications and agents that coordinate background, event-driven, and scheduled work.
- Collaborate with product, developer experience, and infrastructure teams to turn customer needs into developer primitives.
- Maintain high engineering standards through design reviews, tested code, production ownership, and clear technical communication.
- Engage with developers and the open-source community to improve background-job, queue, and scheduling experiences.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience building and operating distributed systems, developer platforms, or cloud infrastructure.
- Experience with TypeScript or JavaScript and open-source infrastructure or developer tools is a plus.
- Comfort working across APIs, runtimes, storage, networking, and production operations.
- Experience with one or more of job queues, schedulers, workflow orchestration, event-driven systems, state machines, stream processing, or durable execution.
- Understanding of delivery guarantees, retries, idempotency, concurrency, and fault tolerance, with the ability to apply them to usable product primitives.
- Ability to write high-quality, well-tested code and solve complex technical problems.
- Clear communication, effective collaboration across teams, and the ability to help teams reach strong technical decisions.
