Responsibilities
- Identify process friction and partner with product owners, service teams, and business stakeholders to prioritize workflow improvements.
- Configure platform workflows, write scripts, expose supported APIs, and build production automation using approved low-code tools.
- Engineer AI-powered conversational experiences, knowledge workflows, agent capabilities, reusable actions, integrations, and templates.
- Connect enterprise applications through secure APIs and data exchange with validation, monitoring, retries, and exception handling.
- Implement permissions-aware retrieval, least-privilege access, integration identities, secrets management, access reviews, and audit evidence.
- Evaluate AI and workflow correctness, response quality, permissions, failure scenarios, adoption, and production quality before and after release.
- Establish productivity baselines and measure cycle time, capacity released, adoption, rework, self-service resolution, and latency.
- Own production reliability, monitoring, incident response, root-cause analysis, regression testing, source control, runbooks, and on-call support.
- Maintain application inventories, dependencies, license usage, and renewal dates while recommending consolidation or retirement.
- Mentor engineers, review technical designs, establish reusable standards, support adoption, and provide technical guidance and knowledge transfer.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a closely related field, or equivalent work experience.
- At least 6 years of experience administering and engineering enterprise business applications, with a record of shipping automation and improving business workflows.
- Hands-on Atlassian administration and automation experience with Jira and Confluence, plus ADP or a comparable payroll or HR platform.
- Scripting and production integration experience using Python, PL/SQL, JavaScript, REST APIs, or webhooks.
- Practical experience applying generative AI or agent tools to business workflows, including evaluation, data access controls, and human oversight.
- Experience building secure, compliant applications with access controls and sensitive data handling for HR, payroll, and financial processes, including familiarity with SOC 2.
- Experience with incident resolution, root-cause analysis, and technical documentation for enterprise applications.
- Practical expertise with SDLC and ADLC, including Agile/SCRUM practices, testing, release management, and DevOps practices.
- Experience providing technical leadership and mentoring to other engineers.
- Preferred qualifications include Atlassian or ADP certifications, enterprise low-code automation, knowledge and search quality, AI assistants, reusable agent tools, governed APIs or MCP, AI evaluation datasets, license optimization, application consolidation, and integrations with ServiceNow, identity, or collaboration platforms.
- Must reside in or be willing to relocate to the greater Southfield, Michigan area; greater Bellevue, Washington area; or San Francisco Bay Area, California.
