Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and scale observability systems and telemetry pipelines for distributed compute clusters.
- Monitor fleetwide compute efficiency, hardware health, workload goodput, and canonical efficiency metrics across training and inference runs.
- Improve hardware efficiency, node reliability, accelerator utilization, and ML workload goodput.
- Integrate new accelerator hardware and contribute to automated recovery and ML-run reliability efforts.
- Operate, maintain, and harden research, development, and production cloud infrastructure and cluster deployments.
- Collaborate with ML Infrastructure, platform, performance, scaling, AI research, science, product, business development, and operations teams.
- Contribute to tooling, infrastructure, and architectural design decisions.
Requirements
- Real-world experience operating, monitoring, and debugging infrastructure for large-scale AI/ML workloads.
- Experience designing cloud compute infrastructure, preferably with GCP.
- Strong programming skills.
- Significant experience deploying and working with Kubernetes at scale.
- Familiarity with Nvidia GPU generations.
- A proven track record of building production observability and telemetry stacks.
- Experience in ML software engineering or infrastructure SRE work is desirable.
- Conceptual understanding of ML workload efficiency paradigms and experience leading projects for multidisciplinary stakeholders are desirable.
- Familiarity with Google TPU generations, workload scheduling, machine learning efficiency research, ML-driven R&D cycles, and hardware benchmarking is desirable.
