Responsibilities
- Lead a portfolio of technology projects and a team of developers building distributed microservices and full-stack systems.
- Design and implement large-scale, distributed, cloud-native systems with high reliability and performance requirements.
- Deliver cloud-based solutions in collaboration with digital product managers and product leaders.
- Provide technical leadership across multiple teams and shape system architecture and long-term technology direction.
- Define platform roadmaps and shared-services strategy with architects and product leaders.
- Lead architectural design reviews, cross-functional engineering efforts, and large-scale technical initiatives.
- Establish coding standards, design patterns, observability practices, and reliability practices across teams.
- Mentor engineers and support professional development within technical teams.
- Stay current with technology trends, experiment with emerging technologies, and participate in technology communities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related quantitative field.
- At least 6 years of software engineering experience; internship experience does not apply.
- At least 3 years of experience with public cloud platforms, cloud-based productivity tools, or virtualization technologies.
- Preferred: master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Preferred: 9+ years coding with more than two of Go, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Rust, C#, or Scala.
- Preferred: 5+ years contributing to open source frameworks and 5+ years with front-end JavaScript or TypeScript frameworks.
- Preferred: experience creating synchronous and asynchronous APIs, working with databases, and using AWS, GCP, Azure, or related cloud technologies.
- Preferred: experience with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, automated testing frameworks, and Git-based version-control systems.
- Preferred: experience troubleshooting cloud environments, mentoring senior engineers, and optimizing distributed-system performance through observability.
- Preferred: experience leading architectural reviews, setting enterprise technical standards, implementing reliability practices, using AI-based coding tools and IDE copilots, and influencing technology strategy.
