Responsibilities
- Develop solutions spanning AI modeling, infrastructure, and AI-powered tools, including storing new knowledge, using LLMs to evaluate requests, and improving models.
- Create throwaway models and prototypes, reusable model architectures, and advanced libraries across multiple codebases and machine learning libraries.
- Work on real applications for Google products in partnership with product teams and other research engineers.
- Develop novel and practical AI solutions while handling ambiguous problems, complex codebases, and rapid iteration.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a relevant technical field focused on AI research, or equivalent practical experience.
- Eight years of experience in the full lifecycle of research modeling.
- Experience with at least two of advanced algorithms, machine learning, information retrieval, natural language processing, data science, distributed and parallel systems, or software systems development.
- Ability to solve exceptionally complex problems and develop novel algorithms.
- Strong prototyping, coding, analytical, learning, and problem-solving abilities, with willingness to work across tools, codebases, and ambiguous problems.
