Base Salary
$176k - $191k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and build AI-native developer tooling, including context aggregation solutions, MCPs, CLIs, skills, sub-agents, and integrations.
- Connect AI coding tools to Wonder’s codebases, services, and systems through reliable, sanctioned interfaces.
- Help establish autonomous development agents, cloud agent solutions, and AI-assisted workflows for code generation, review, testing, documentation, refactoring, and incident management.
- Bring external AI-assisted development patterns into Wonder and translate them into standards suited to its stack, scale, and constraints.
- Develop pre-review and triage tooling, automate mechanical and policy issues, and define standards for reviewing AI-generated code.
- Build systems that optimize AI costs and abstract model selection by routing tasks to appropriate models.
- Define and measure developer velocity while scoping, designing, and shipping developer tooling with minimal oversight.
- Partner with platform, infrastructure, application, and engineering teams and produce clear technical specifications and documentation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Recent hands-on experience building with or on top of LLM-based tooling such as agents, MCP servers, or coding assistants.
- Direct experience integrating AI tools into development workflows beyond individual end-user usage.
- Strong system design skills and experience owning tools or platforms end to end, from design through adoption.
- Experience designing and consuming APIs, webhooks, or other integration and message-based systems.
- Experience building developer tooling, internal platforms, CI/CD systems, or other software primarily used by engineers.
- Java/JVM and/or Python experience is preferred but not required.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex technical obstacles, operate with ambiguity, and lead technical discussions across teams.
