Responsibilities
- Collaborate with product managers, scientists, application engineers, quantum physicists, and other engineers to translate requirements into technical specifications and solutions.
- Architect and build efficient, reliable, scalable, and maintainable compiler software and tools.
- Convert quantum circuits into implementations targeting D-Wave’s dual-rail qubit architecture.
- Write documented code, conduct code reviews, troubleshoot issues, identify bottlenecks, and optimize performance.
- Provide software mentorship and promote software engineering best practices.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in computer science, electrical or computer engineering, mathematics, physics, chemistry, or equivalent experience with strong physics aptitude.
- At least 5 years of hands-on software development experience using C, C++, Python, or another general-purpose compiled programming language.
- Strong understanding of compiler design fundamentals.
- At least 2 years of experience developing compiler software, transpiling quantum models, and using quantum APIs such as Qiskit, CUDA-Q, Q#, or Cirq.
- Experience with QIR, LLVM, MLIR, lexers, parsers, and compiler toolchain technologies.
- Experience with high-level quantum programming languages or models.
- Proficiency with database systems and SQL, including relational databases such as PostgreSQL or Oracle.
- Competence with Git, build tools, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
