Responsibilities

  • Own technical execution from discovery through production, including building, assessing, and hardening AI prototypes.
  • Design and govern reusable agentic AI patterns covering orchestration, tool use, memory, retrieval, prompt engineering, and production guardrails.
  • Integrate AI into enterprise systems through APIs and data pipelines while addressing security, data governance, and data residency.
  • Codify validated solutions into reusable patterns, reference implementations, and starter kits for adoption across functions.
  • Define requirements, provide design input, write specifications, fix complex bugs, and design complex data models.
  • Recommend infrastructure, hosting, data residency, sizing, and budget approaches.
  • Establish baselines and measure productivity, cost, and quality outcomes from pilot through scale.
  • Manage scope, dependencies, priorities, and blockers while driving delivery from innovation pilots to production.
  • Serve as the primary technical contact for external resources and the squad’s coding and AI expert.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies, maintain visibility of AI pilots, and identify candidates for reuse.
  • Mentor and elevate engineers and influence senior management, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of software engineering experience with hands-on AI system design, development, or integration and a record of taking enterprise AI prototypes to production.
  • BS in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience; an advanced degree is preferred.
  • Experience with LLM orchestration, prompt engineering, context-window management, production guardrails, MCP, tool-augmented agents, and enterprise-scale RAG.
  • Experience integrating AI into enterprise systems through APIs and data pipelines with strong security, data governance, and data residency practices.
  • Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP and managed AI/ML services.
  • Knowledge of relational, columnar, and vector data stores and sound architectural principles.
  • Proficiency in Python, Java, TypeScript/JavaScript, SQL, and relevant AI SDKs.
  • Experience planning and sequencing delivery, managing scope and dependencies, removing blockers, and coordinating internal and external resources.
  • Ability to communicate with senior management and cross-functional stakeholders, build buy-in, and drive technical decisions.
  • Budget awareness and experience measuring productivity, cost, and quality outcomes.
