Responsibilities
- Architect, build, and optimize service mesh, ingress/egress infrastructure, edge routing, and custom control planes using Envoy Proxy and AWS.
- Enhance load-balancing algorithms, service discovery, and dynamic scaling across high-concurrency data and control planes running on Kubernetes.
- Operationalize telemetry, metrics, and distributed tracing to improve detection and resolution of networking-stack incidents.
- Lead complex production investigations spanning kernel parameters, cloud VPC network layers, DNS, and distributed microservice protocols.
- Provide technical leadership through architecture, RFC reviews, technical vision, incident post-mortems, incident response, and mentoring.
Requirements
- At least 6 years of production systems experience building and operating large-scale cloud infrastructure and networking platforms.
- Deep knowledge of Linux networking, TCP/IP, DNS, gRPC, HTTP/2, load balancing, and AWS networking architecture including VPCs, NLBs, subnets, and transit gateways.
- Hands-on experience building or operating large-scale proxy and service mesh technologies such as Envoy, Istio, Cilium, or Nginx.
- Strong experience managing production Kubernetes clusters on public cloud providers such as AWS or GCP using Terraform.
- Demonstrated ability to isolate and debug complex, multilayered system failures under high-throughput conditions.
