Base Salary
$104k - $176k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and implement full-stack features across the Ruby on Rails backend and React frontend from design review through production rollout.
- Own medium-sized projects by breaking down work, setting delivery dates, and delivering on schedule.
- Write and tune queries against MongoDB and ClickHouse while improving segmentation performance and cost at scale.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, customers, and engineering teams to clarify requirements and deliver customer-focused features.
- Write automated tests, review code, and participate in the on-call rotation to maintain stable, high-quality systems.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of professional experience building and shipping web applications through full-stack development or backend services.
- Solid understanding of software design, data structures, and algorithms.
- Experience with SQL and at least one production database.
- Ability to turn ambiguous feature requests into working, tested code with limited oversight.
- Strong communication and organizational skills with experience working effectively in teams.
- Familiarity with Ruby, Ruby on Rails, TypeScript, React, Sidekiq, and SQL or NoSQL databases is preferred.
- Experience with MongoDB, ClickHouse, Snowflake, or other data lake solutions is preferred.
- Experience working on high-scale, high-throughput systems is preferred.
