Base Salary
$152k - $244k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, document, and implement new systems and enhancements aligned with specifications, security standards, and engineering best practices.
- Lead architecture and implementation of REST APIs, gRPC services, backend platforms, microservices, and event-driven systems.
- Design and evolve highly scalable, reliable, resilient, secure, and fault-tolerant web applications.
- Use GenAI, LLMs, coding copilots, and agentic engineering approaches in day-to-day software development.
- Create design artifacts, present technical solutions to technical and business stakeholders, and communicate features and risks effectively.
- Collaborate with Technical Product Managers to break solutions into achievable tasks.
- Support testing and operations teams with troubleshooting, defect research, and root cause analysis.
- Contribute to CI/CD automation, development process improvements, production stability, and full SDLC activities.
- Mentor junior developers and influence engineering standards, architecture, and technical direction.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of relevant experience with a bachelor’s degree, 5 years with an advanced degree, 2 years with a PhD, or 11 years of relevant experience without the stated degree alternatives.
- Deep backend engineering experience with REST APIs, gRPC, J2EE, JDBC, JMS, microservices, and event-driven systems.
- Extensive hands-on experience with Spring, Spring Batch, Spring Boot, WebFlux, and Vert.x.
- Strong experience building high-performance, scalable, reliable, and fault-tolerant applications.
- Experience with MySQL, DB2, Oracle, SQL, Kafka, Redis, or NoSQL datastores.
- Experience with GIT, Maven, Jenkins, Chef, Sonar, JUnit, CI/CD, infrastructure automation, monitoring, logging, auditing, and security implementation.
- Strong understanding of software architecture, operations, version control, build processes, testing, code release, and the full software development lifecycle.
- Demonstrated technical leadership, architecture ownership, mentoring, stakeholder communication, and ability to solve complex business problems.
- Mandatory strong experience with GenAI, LLM-driven software engineering, copilots, and agentic software.
