Responsibilities
- Design integrations for vessel- and job-specific automations according to Fugro’s integration standards.
- Maintain structured documentation of vessel control designs for engineering, certification, and classification processes.
- Define data exchange structures and protocols using industry standards.
- Enable integration with digital-twin solutions.
- Develop verification schemas and example communication flows.
- Support software-component modularization and ensure proper functionality assignment.
- Coordinate work related to the reliability, interoperability, and safety of vessel control and autonomy software.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field.
- Experience developing data and processing models.
- Familiarity with architectural patterns including functional layers, microservices, and event-driven architecture.
- Experience with real-time communications and protocols such as MQTT, DDS, ModBus, CAN, and OPC-UA.
- Understanding of SCADA systems, PLCs, IIoT, and distributed control systems.
- Strong communication and coordination skills, with a proactive approach to ownership and decision-making.
- Experience with maritime or autonomous systems is a bonus.
- Knowledge of high-availability systems is a bonus.
- Familiarity with Docker and cloud-based testing environments is a bonus.
