Responsibilities
- Design, develop, maintain, refactor, optimize, and modernize Android applications.
- Implement scalable and maintainable features using modern Android development practices.
- Integrate native Android capabilities including NFC, Bluetooth, and camera SDKs.
- Troubleshoot application issues and performance bottlenecks.
- Participate in architecture discussions, technical decision-making, and all phases of the software development lifecycle.
- Collaborate with iOS engineers, QA specialists, backend developers, and product stakeholders.
- Contribute to peer reviews, code quality initiatives, continuous improvement, CI/CD, and engineering automation.
- Own feature development and drive implementation independently.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of commercial Android development experience.
- Strong knowledge of Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, Coroutines, Flow, Retrofit, and the Android SDK.
- Experience with MVVM, Clean Architecture, dependency injection, unit testing, Mockito, and JUnit.
- Solid understanding of object-oriented programming, algorithms, data structures, design patterns, and software engineering fundamentals.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and ownership skills.
- Intermediate or higher English proficiency.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- Preferred experience with Java, XML, Android Data Binding, legacy Android modernization, XML-to-Jetpack Compose migration, Navigation Compose, CI/CD pipelines, release automation, scripting, process automation, and AI-assisted engineering tools.
- A portfolio of published Android applications on Google Play or GitHub is a plus.
