Base Salary
$160k - $271k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain real-time surgical visualization and augmented reality software for the da Vinci surgical system.
- Collaborate with designers, clinical engineers, human factors specialists, and software teams to translate clinical needs into reliable, performant software.
- Prototype novel clinical ideas and carry selected concepts through production integration.
- Define high-level requirements and architect software interfaces for a distributed robotic system.
- Perform failure mode analysis and implement hazard mitigation strategies.
- Support verification, validation, and documentation in a regulated development environment.
- Use software development tooling and practices including version control, code review, testing, and Linux development.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field; equivalent practical experience is considered.
- Strong proficiency in C++ in a production software environment.
- Solid understanding of computer graphics fundamentals, including rendering pipelines, shaders, and scene management.
- Practical experience with graphics APIs such as OpenGL, Vulkan, or Metal.
- Experience integrating software into larger systems with defined interfaces and constraints.
- Preferred qualifications include surgical robotics or medical imaging experience, HCI engineering, Qt/QML, Unity, Nvidia CUDA, computer vision, machine learning, and use of AI-powered tools for prototyping.
