Base Salary
$189k - $303k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design complex software systems from the ground up in partnership with software, hardware, and infrastructure engineering teams.
- Design, implement, and maintain micro-backend architecture in Aurora’s AWS cloud.
- Build asset management, fleet management, and vehicle communication solutions for autonomous vehicle operations.
- Develop highly available and reliable systems that scale commercial fleet operations.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, operations stakeholders, and internal customers throughout the product lifecycle.
- Contribute to team mentorship, feedback, collaboration, and engineering excellence.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of experience building backend services.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or a related field.
- Experience with REST, gRPC, and GraphQL web communication protocols.
- Experience building large-scale, highly concurrent, high-throughput, safety-critical backend services.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including technical specification writing and explaining technical concepts to nontechnical audiences.
- Ability to take ownership of products from development through release and post-release support.
