Base Salary
$125k - $200k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop a reliable, scalable enterprise data platform for petabyte-scale data ingestion, processing, storage, and querying.
- Create full-stack functionality and end-to-end data pipelines that improve SpaceX business operations.
- Collaborate on architecture, design, and code reviews.
- Build prototypes to validate design concepts and quantify technical constraints.
- Own software engineering and product development across the full lifecycle.
- Analyze business problems and develop efficient solutions using first-principles thinking.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, data science, engineering, math, physics, or another scientific discipline, or 2+ years of professional software-building experience in lieu of a degree.
- At least 1 year of experience in full-stack development, software engineering, data engineering, or data science.
- Programming experience with Scala, Java, C#, Python, Go, or similar languages.
- Frontend experience with Angular, React, or similar JavaScript frameworks.
- Experience with in-stream big-data processing and analytics frameworks such as Apache Kafka, Spark, or Flink.
- Experience with relational and non-relational databases or data lakes such as Hive, Delta Lake, PostgreSQL, or CockroachDB.
- Experience with data exploration tools such as Grafana, Metabase, or Power BI.
- Understanding of version control, testing, continuous integration, build, deployment, and monitoring.
- Understanding of statistics, machine-learning algorithms, and frameworks.
- Willingness to work extended hours and weekends when needed.
- Must satisfy applicable ITAR citizenship, residency, refugee, asylee, or authorization requirements.
Benefits
- Base salary ranges from $125,000 to $165,000 per year for Software Engineer/Level I and from $145,000 to $200,000 per year for Software Engineer/Level II.
