Responsibilities
- Lead adoption and operation of ML and AI tooling across Trainline.
- Support AI infrastructure and internal platforms by ensuring products are governed, monitored, and deployed through automation.
- Build and drive adoption of a standard deployment approach for ML and AI products.
- Automate service modernisation and fix or prevent security vulnerabilities in libraries and dependencies.
- Improve MLOps foundations through cost tracking, cost reduction, security improvements, and standardised engineering practices.
- Contribute to technical strategy and make decisions where established approaches do not exist.
- Communicate technical decisions and prioritise requests from supported ML teams.
- Mentor engineers and share knowledge through documentation and organisational enablement.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience with infrastructure as code and CI/CD tooling, ideally Terraform and GitHub Actions; AWS CloudFormation and Jenkins are also relevant.
- Experience with containerised workloads using Docker and cloud platforms, ideally AWS; GCP and Azure are also considered.
- Experience productionising AI products, including agentic systems and supporting AIOps tooling, ideally with AWS Bedrock AgentCore or similar.
- Experience with managed or self-hosted ML infrastructure, including tools such as Amazon SageMaker, Feast, Airflow, or Metaflow.
- Experience with model experiment tracking using MLflow or Weights & Biases and monitoring tools such as EvidentlyAI, CometML, Grafana, or New Relic.
- Experience writing production-quality, tested Python code.
- Experience leading or significantly contributing to major platform changes and migrations, and leading technical work through ambiguity.
- Strong communication, prioritisation, cross-team adoption, and mentoring skills.
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals, VPCs, security groups, CDNs, WAFs, IAM, EntraID, and SSO is desirable.
- Experience with Spacelift, Braintrust, or ElevenLabs is desirable.
