Base Salary
$230k - $276k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate distributed backend services and APIs for shared global platforms.
- Own services end to end from architecture and implementation through observability, reliability, and production evolution.
- Define service contracts, SLOs, and guardrails for internal platform users.
- Collaborate with data, ML, and infrastructure engineers to turn models, datasets, and lower-level components into internal products.
- Lead 0→1 and modernization initiatives, make technical trade-offs, and establish standards for high-leverage systems.
- Mentor engineers and contribute to engineering reviews, discussions, hiring, and raising the engineering bar.
Requirements
- Solid experience as a backend or platform engineer owning production systems across design, implementation, operations, and evolution.
- Proven experience with distributed systems at scale and building APIs or microservices on modern cloud infrastructure.
- Experience building or supporting platform-level services used by multiple engineering teams.
- Ability to operate in ambiguous, fast-changing environments and drive 0→1 technical decisions.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills across engineering disciplines and locations.
- Preferred experience with data, ML, or AI infrastructure such as experimentation, model serving, or ML platforms.
- Preferred experience in regulated or safety-critical domains, including financial infrastructure or crypto.
- Preferred background designing systems across products, markets, and regulatory environments for fast-growing global technology companies.
