Base Salary
$133k - $235k/yr
Responsibilities
- Support machine learning models powering personalized experiences and ranking across Snap products.
- Optimize, export, and prepare models for efficient production use across training and inference workflows.
- Own infrastructure for hosting and serving recommendation models, embedding-generation models, and self-hosted large language models.
- Build and operate LLM fine-tuning, reinforcement-learning infrastructure, serving, and inference-optimization capabilities.
- Provide model-hosting, ranking, and ML infrastructure to teams across Ads, Content, Growth, Lenses, Security, My AI, and other product areas.
- Operate highly available inference systems at significant scale.
Requirements
- Strong programming skills in Python and Java.
- Strong problem-solving skills focused on system performance, scalability, and efficiency.
- Understanding of distributed systems and large-scale machine-learning infrastructure.
- Experience with large-scale production machine-learning systems, distributed systems, or big-data processing.
- Experience with big-data frameworks such as Spark, Flink, or Ray.
- At least 2 years of post-bachelor’s software development experience, or a master’s degree with at least 1 year of post-graduate software development experience, or a PhD in a relevant technical field.
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as computer science or equivalent experience.
- Preferred qualifications include a master’s or PhD, experience with ML training platforms or AI model-inference optimization, and familiarity with TensorFlow, PyTorch, Caffe2, Spark ML, scikit-learn, or related frameworks.
