Responsibilities
- Own and evolve critical catalog systems, including product onboarding and data enrichment.
- Design and operate scalable services and data models for accurate product information.
- Drive discovery with partners to identify high-impact problems and define technical roadmaps.
- Lead initiatives from concept through production rollout, including design and implementation.
- Build systems to improve catalog data quality and resolve inconsistencies.
- Ensure catalog workflows support efficient merchandising operations.
- Mentor engineers through code reviews and technical discussions.
- Monitor and tune systems for reliability and performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners to align technical solutions with business needs.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software engineering experience with demonstrated impact.
- Experience building and operating large-scale production systems.
- Strong interest or experience in catalog management and e-commerce.
- Fluency in at least one modern programming language like Go, Java, or Python.
- Proven track record of driving initiatives from discovery to delivery.
- Clear and effective communication skills for diverse audiences.
- Ability to navigate cross-functional dynamics and negotiate tradeoffs.
- Experience with relational databases like Postgres or MySQL.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Understanding of data quality and system observability.
