Base Salary
$112k - $186k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own and evolve catalog systems for product onboarding, attribute management, data enrichment, validation workflows, and product readiness.
- Design and operate scalable services and data models that provide accurate, complete, consistent product information to downstream systems.
- Lead discovery and technical roadmap definition with Product, Merchandising, Data Science, and Operations partners.
- Independently lead initiatives through technical design, implementation, production launch, and outcome measurement.
- Build systems that detect, prevent, and resolve incomplete, inaccurate, or inconsistent product information.
- Improve catalog workflows and merchandising operations for preparing products for sale at scale.
- Mentor engineers through code reviews, architecture discussions, technical feedback, and shared engineering standards.
- Instrument, monitor, and tune systems for reliability, performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software engineering experience with demonstrated impact in complex domains.
- Experience building and operating large-scale production systems, data platforms, workflow tools, or product information systems.
- Domain interest or experience in catalog management, product data, merchandising systems, e-commerce, supply chain, or similarly operationally intensive environments.
- Fluency in at least one modern programming language such as Go, Java, Ruby, Python, or a similar language.
- Proven ability to independently drive initiatives from discovery through delivery in ambiguous environments.
- Strong communication, cross-functional collaboration, and tradeoff-negotiation skills.
- Experience with relational databases such as Postgres or MySQL.
- Experience building and operating services on a major cloud platform such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Comfort with observability tools such as Datadog and understanding of data quality, workflow reliability, and system observability.
- Values automated testing and continuous delivery as engineering quality practices.
