Base Salary
$163k - $279k/yr
Responsibilities
- Drive technical strategy and architecture for critical Growth Engineering platforms and lead complex initiatives from design through production.
- Build scalable backend infrastructure including high-performance APIs, distributed services, event-driven architectures, and real-time data-processing systems.
- Develop AI-native capabilities that transform customer signals, product usage, lifecycle events, and business context into personalized experiences, next-best actions, and automated workflows.
- Design for performance, fault tolerance, observability, security, reliability, and operational excellence.
- Translate ambiguous business challenges into technical solutions in partnership with Product, Data Science, Marketing, Sales, and engineering teams.
- Provide architectural leadership, technical mentorship, design reviews, and hands-on contributions to complex engineering problems.
Requirements
- Requires 8+ years of professional software engineering experience with substantial backend development experience.
- Requires a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Requires strong proficiency in Python, Java, Kotlin, or a comparable backend language, along with computer science fundamentals and object-oriented design skills.
- Requires experience with backend frameworks such as FastAPI or Spring Boot.
- Requires deep expertise in distributed systems, backend architecture, domain-driven design, event-driven architectures, scalability, reliability, and modern engineering practices.
- Requires Staff-level technical leadership driving cross-team initiatives, shaping architecture, and mentoring engineers.
- Preferred experience includes growth platforms, experimentation systems, customer segmentation, marketing automation, data-intensive applications, AI-powered applications, agentic workflows, LLM integration, tool orchestration, evaluation, production observability, real-time pipelines, streaming, large-scale event processing, AWS or GCP, Docker, Kubernetes, Grafana, Prometheus, Splunk, and enterprise-system integrations.
- Experience in high-growth technology companies, fintech, payments, or regulated environments is preferred.
