Base Salary
$180k - $220k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead the productionization of personalization and classification algorithms.
- Build data- and analytics-informed systems that maintain the accuracy and relevance of personalization, classification, and ranking algorithms.
- Translate experimental outputs from AWS SageMaker and Amazon Personalize into efficient, reproducible production systems.
- Design and maintain model-serving infrastructure, including APIs, batch pipelines, and streaming systems for reliable ML model deployment.
- Contribute to full-stack projects with a specialization in backend or infrastructure.
- Influence platform architecture and technical decisions while improving scalability, performance, and user experience.
- Drive experimentation with MVPs while balancing rapid iteration, sustainable growth, and developer experience.
- Optimize performance and system reliability as the user base grows.
- Mentor engineers and foster a culture of growth and collaboration.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience leading complex technical projects with significant business impact.
- Experience integrating LLM or machine-learning outputs into core product features.
- Strong specialization in backend or infrastructure systems with broad full-stack knowledge.
- Proficiency with IaC, AWS, Java, Python, and TypeScript, plus backend systems experience.
- Experience with scalability, performance optimization, and tools supporting data-driven decision-making.
- Ability to lead initiatives, mentor engineers, and communicate across technical and non-technical teams.
- Experience at consumer, social, or marketplace companies is preferred.
