Responsibilities
- Build backend infrastructure for Samsara’s IoT platform, including scalable data ingestion and storage systems.
- Develop web applications and user experiences that turn operational data into actionable insights.
- Improve the infrastructure and performance of Samsara’s React Native mobile application.
- Build and maintain embedded software running directly on Samsara hardware, including work involving edge AI, multimedia frameworks, power management, and real-time data processing.
- Collaborate with product, design, customer success, and engineering teams to iterate on customer-focused features.
- Participate in customer interviews and use metrics to evaluate real-world outcomes.
Requirements
- Currently a junior-year student pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, Physics, or Data Science.
- Expected to complete the degree between Spring, Summer, or Fall 2028 or Winter 2029.
- Must be able to work full-time during the internship and not remain enrolled in school full-time while working.
- Must work hybrid, 3 days per week in the San Francisco, California office.
- Experience with technologies similar to Golang, TypeScript, React, GraphQL, or React Native is strongly encouraged but not required.
- Applicants should demonstrate curiosity, self-directed learning, problem-solving, ownership, collaboration, and interest in using AI tools in their work.
