Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and productionize machine-learning solutions for document understanding, search and Q&A, generative AI, and virtual agents.
- Develop and maintain Python backend services for AI-driven applications.
- Design and implement APIs integrating AI models and services.
- Serve as a machine-learning subject-matter expert while collaborating with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders.
- Manage the full machine-learning lifecycle, including problem definition, data exploration, feature engineering, training, validation, and deployment.
- Implement telemetry, A/B testing, statistical validation, automated testing, and quality-assurance processes for ML systems.
- Troubleshoot AI model, integration, deployment, and backend-service issues.
- Document and communicate system designs, development processes, and architectural decisions.
- Ensure the security and compliance of healthcare data in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, machine learning, or a related quantitative field.
- At least 6 years of industry experience focused on developing and productionizing machine-learning solutions.
- Strong knowledge of object-oriented programming, design patterns, efficient algorithms, and quality software development.
- Strong Python proficiency and familiarity with machine-learning libraries such as PyTorch.
- Experience with statistical machine learning and AI applied to NLP, speech, RAG, virtual agents, and/or document processing.
- Familiarity with AWS or Azure cloud platforms.
- Familiarity with generative AI services such as OpenAI GPT, Anthropic Claude, and Google Gemma, including prompt development and fine-tuning.
- Experience with microservices or API-based application architectures.
- Strong problem-solving, logical-thinking, collaboration, written communication, customer focus, innovation, product quality, and test-engineering abilities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment and adhere to healthcare data security, compliance, and HIPAA requirements.
