Responsibilities
- Write, review, and ship production-quality code as an ongoing hands-on contributor.
- Define and drive Aviato’s platform architecture and technical roadmap.
- Build automation, reusable scripts, libraries, services, and tools to improve system and process efficiency.
- Drive CI/CD, automated testing, unit testing, code coverage, observability, and operational excellence.
- Identify and address technical debt, scalability constraints, security gaps, and other systemic risks.
- Partner with security teams and tools to review threats and address vulnerabilities.
- Influence technical direction and negotiate technical decisions with engineers, managers, executives, and other stakeholders.
- Mentor and coach senior engineers and establish engineering standards for quality and operations.
- Support production incidents, releases, and global team collaboration through flexible or shift-based hours as needed.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience with JavaScript, C#, .NET, HTML, or equivalent object-oriented languages.
- Deep expertise in .NET/C# and hands-on experience architecting and operating production systems on Microsoft Azure.
- Understanding of SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS models.
- Experience building high-performance, scalable, robust 24x7 environments or applications.
- Experience creating cloud-orchestration scripts or automation, with PowerShell preferred; Python is also cited.
- Ability to influence without direct authority across engineers, managers, and executives.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including design documentation and operational runbooks.
- Ability to create secure, operable code at scale.
- Willingness to work flexible or shift-based hours when needed for incidents, releases, or global collaboration.
- Nice-to-have front-end experience with Angular or React.
- Nice-to-have experience with observability, tracing tools such as Spunk or Honeycomb, and containerized application environments.
