Responsibilities
- Design and build backend and platform features including APIs, services, integrations, and data flows.
- Own scoped projects end-to-end, from requirements clarification to implementation and testing.
- Write automated tests for isolated logic and system behavior.
- Apply solid engineering fundamentals such as error handling and clear interfaces.
- Debug production issues and drive them to resolution.
- Improve reliability and maintainability through refactors and performance enhancements.
- Communicate progress, tradeoffs, and risks to engineering and cross-functional partners.
- Contribute to team standards through code reviews and documentation.
Requirements
- 2 to 4 years of experience as a software engineer shipping production systems.
- Experience building and maintaining backend services and APIs.
- Comfortable with third-party API integrations and data modeling.
- Proficient in writing automated tests as part of the development process.
- Strong understanding of clean architecture and separation of concerns.
- Ability to take ownership of scoped problems and drive them to completion.
- Solid debugging skills for edge cases and production failures.
- Fluent communication in English, both written and verbal.
- Must provide own laptop and reliable internet, and work primarily in Americas time zones.
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.
