Base Salary
$173k - $286k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, debug, optimize, and operate resilient distributed systems across thousands of compute nodes and multiple data centers.
- Build cloud infrastructure automation tools, frameworks, workflows, and validation platforms across public cloud environments.
- Develop production-grade backend software, critical infrastructure services, containerized microservices, and Infrastructure-as-Code.
- Use open-source technologies and AI development tools to deliver secure, reliable, and high-quality code.
- Design AI-agent integrations and maintain shared system context containing system designs, constraints, and standards.
- Evaluate human- and AI-generated code for correctness, quality, security, and performance.
- Own live-site management, service availability, resilience, performance improvements, and technical-debt reduction.
- Participate in an on-call rotation to resolve complex production issues.
Requirements
- A related technical degree is required.
- 5+ years of backend software development experience is required.
- Deep programming experience with Java, Golang, Python, or Ruby.
- Experience owning and operating multiple instances of a critical service.
- Experience with critical infrastructure services including monitoring, alerting, logging, and reporting applications.
- Experience with distributed database systems and relational databases such as Postgres is preferred.
- Experience with AI tools and an AI-first development workflow, including advanced prompt engineering and system-context creation.
- Experience with Agile development methodology and Test Driven Development.
- Must be a U.S. citizen operating on U.S. soil and able to meet applicable customer and government screening standards, including fingerprint-based Criminal Justice Information Services screening.
