Responsibilities
- Contribute across the software development lifecycle from inception and design through development, testing, and deployment.
- Work with open source software and contribute to Apache Arrow projects.
- Participate in code and design reviews to maintain quality and understand system architecture.
- Collaborate with program managers, support, architects, customers, and BI tool partners on features and updates.
- Help grow the team through recruiting, mentoring, and development of best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or a related technical field.
- Fluency in Java, C++, or another modern programming language.
- Strong foundations in data structures, algorithms, multithreaded and asynchronous programming patterns.
- Experience developing scalable distributed systems and deploying, scaling, and managing microservices.
- Understanding of quality, zero-downtime upgrades, availability, resiliency, and platform uptime.
- Preferred experience with JDBC, ODBC, ADBC, database drivers or protocols, Apache Arrow, SQL, databases, highly available services, client-side libraries or applications, and open source contributions.
