Responsibilities
- Own large-scale cloud platform projects end to end, from architecture and Terraform implementation through production delivery.
- Design secure, scalable, resilient, and cost-optimized platform primitives across AWS and Azure.
- Operate and improve multi-account AWS, Azure landing zones, cloud networking, connectivity, and Kubernetes platforms.
- Provide advanced operational support, incident resolution, root-cause analysis, and high-availability ownership for team services.
- Shape technical direction with Engineering Managers and architects, document significant decisions, and manage cross-team dependencies.
- Mentor peers, produce exemplary code and documentation, and promote engineering standards and best practices.
- Explore and implement AI-driven automation to improve infrastructure efficiency and team productivity.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in cloud engineering roles, with significant AWS depth.
- Advanced hands-on experience designing and operating enterprise-scale AWS production infrastructure, including multi-account architectures, IAM, KMS, compute, storage, security services, and multi-region architectures.
- Production experience with Azure, including landing zones, VNet architectures, Entra ID, and Azure governance and resource models.
- Expert Terraform experience involving reusable modules, secure state management, and disciplined code review.
- Experience with Git-based workflows, CI/CD, and Spacelift, plus proficiency in Python or a similar automation language.
- Strong cloud networking experience covering VPC and VNet design, hub-and-spoke architectures, Transit Gateway or Cloud WAN, DNS, private connectivity, and routing.
- Experience running containerized workloads in production, ideally using EKS or AKS, including cluster lifecycle and workload deployment.
- Experience in regulated environments and understanding of change control, least privilege, auditability, observability, and measurement; PCI DSS familiarity is preferred.
- Ability to provide technical leadership, mentor peers, translate ambiguous problems into technical plans, and lead incident resolution.
- A degree in Computer Science or a related field is useful but not required.
