Base Salary
$129k - $234k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own, maintain, and optimize the Writer Design System for human developers and AI coding agents.
- Design and build production-quality UI components and product features from concept through launch.
- Deliver polished frontend work including micro-interactions, animation, and brand-focused product moments.
- Architect design-system primitives and core components while keeping Figma, Markdown skills, Storybook, documentation, and examples synchronized.
- Uphold frontend standards for accessibility, motion, consistency, and quality.
- Research and improve design-to-code tools and workflows across the EPD organization.
- Partner with designers, product managers, and engineering leads to measure design-system adoption and ensure shipped features meet system standards.
Requirements
- 4–8+ years of experience building production frontends with TypeScript and React.
- Experience owning a system, platform, or product surface end-to-end.
- Strong understanding of animation principles including easing curves, choreography, anticipation, follow-through, interruptibility, and perceived performance.
- Expert-level proficiency with Figma, including auto-layout, variants, variables, and Code Connect.
- Proficiency with Framer Motion, GSAP, and Lottie for web-based animation.
- A portfolio, side projects, GitHub profile, or production work demonstrating systems-level design engineering and frontend craft.
- Experience driving adoption of a design system or shared platform across an engineering organization.
- Experience influencing technical or design direction beyond an immediate team.
- Experience with AI product surfaces such as tool-call UIs, streaming responses, agent state, and dynamic UI rendering.
