Responsibilities
- Design and develop new features across Pico’s market data, order execution, and analytics product range.
- Build and maintain high-performance, multithreaded C applications under Linux.
- Normalize and analyze high-volume real-time market data and address latency and throughput challenges.
- Apply automated unit and integration testing and write maintainable code.
- Collaborate with engineering and customer-facing teams while communicating technical decisions and trade-offs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics.
- Strong proficiency in C development under Linux.
- Knowledge of financial trading concepts including orders, trades, quotes, and FIX protocols.
- Knowledge of high-performance systems, multithreaded application development, and computer architectures.
- Experience or knowledge of automated testing, including unit and integration testing.
- Desirable knowledge of Linux development environments, gdb, Valgrind, Python, Java, Jenkins, IP networking, and Wireshark.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, collaboration, customer service, and feedback-receptiveness skills.
