Senior Full Stack Engineer
Northwestern MutualResponsibilities
- Advance DevOps, automation, and XP practices.
- Research and conduct proofs of concept for new automation and development practices.
- Coach and mentor the engineering team.
- Spread best practices through self-service documentation, training, coaching, and Dojo activities.
- Ensure engineering tools are available and that engineers can use them effectively.
- Work on web-based products and teams that integrate across multiple systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent and 4+ years of software engineering experience.
- Experience working in an Agile development environment.
- Proficiency in one or more object-oriented languages, including Java or C#.
- Understanding of object-oriented concepts and principles such as encapsulation, inheritance, polymorphism, and SOLID.
- Proficiency with unit testing frameworks such as xUnit, JUnit, Jasmine, Tape, or Mocha.
- Proficiency in JavaScript and one or more frameworks such as React, AngularJS, or NodeJS.
- Strong attention to detail, creative problem-solving ability, and written and oral communication skills.
- Preferred qualifications include technical writing experience and success representing customer needs to an Agile team, such as in a Scrum Product Owner role.
