Responsibilities
- Build and maintain GitHub Actions CI/CD workflows for embedded software, firmware, and FPGA builds across Windows, Linux, and Xilinx toolchains.
- Deploy and manage self-hosted GitHub Actions runners and build agents on premises or in the cloud.
- Design and deploy hardware-in-the-loop test systems for automated regression testing of embedded audio and video products.
- Lead the migration from SVN and other legacy version control systems to Git and GitHub, including repository structure, branching strategy, and team onboarding.
- Provision and maintain build and test servers, operating system images, toolchains, runner scaling, and development environments.
- Establish artifact repositories and package management systems for build outputs, binary assets, firmware images, and embedded software distribution.
- Implement infrastructure-as-code solutions for build servers, runners, test rigs, and development environments.
- Optimize compute and storage resources and identify scalable improvements to engineering workflows.
- Mentor engineers in Git, GitHub Actions, automation, and DevOps practices.
- Conduct code reviews and maintain documentation for build, test, and deployment processes.
- Establish metrics for build performance, test coverage, and pipeline reliability.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Five or more years of DevOps or automation experience.
- Experience with version control systems, especially Git, and preferably SVN-to-Git migrations.
- Experience developing CI/CD pipelines and managing self-hosted runners or build agents.
- Experience with automated testing frameworks, hardware-in-the-loop or automated hardware test infrastructure, package management, and software distribution.
- Strong scripting and automation skills using Python, Bash, or similar tools.
- Experience working in embedded systems development environments and designing, implementing, and maintaining automated build and test systems.
- Core experience with GitHub Actions, Linux, Docker, Python or Bash, and Ansible.
- Experience supporting embedded and FPGA workflows with GNU Make, CMake, Xilinx toolchains, Yocto, or proprietary toolchains.
- Experience with hardware-in-the-loop testing, fixture orchestration, automated regression testing, and artifact repositories.
- Preferred experience with FPGA development workflows, hardware-in-the-loop test rig design, instrument control, JFrog Artifactory, Nexus, or GitHub Packages.
- Background in audio, video, or high-performance embedded systems is preferred.
